| WORKSHOPS - DIVERSITY
People Medley Series
Four workshops for all levels of associates
Our entire diversity portfolio is available as the People Medley Series, including Gender’s Role in the Workplace, Generational Diversity, Cultural Intelligence and Diversity of Thought and Perspective.
The People Medley Series is designed to address some of the most challenging aspects of a workplace: dealing with differences. As a series, the four workshops provide added dimension to the comprehensive nature of diversity within today’s workplace. Participants realize and appreciate that differences are valuable when they are understood and leveraged for the greater good of the organization.
Gender’s Role in the Workplace
For all levels of associates
This workshop explores the differences and benefits offered through the characteristics of the various gender attributes expressed in the workplace. Certain leadership traits are often linked to masculine form, while others are determined to be of feminine character.
Participants learn to:
- Identify leadership traits/characteristics that are considered masculine and those considered feminine
- Understand the impact of masculine or feminine leadership upon an organization’s or team’s culture
- Leverage the gender differences to create an environment complimentary to both genders’ expression
Generational Diversity
For all levels of associates
Through this workshop you will gain a greater appreciation for the value each generation brings to the workplace and how to leverage that for the success of the organization. Despite the obvious differences that age brings, there are other generational factors that have an impact on how things are perceived and interpreted. Each generation has been impacted by their own set experiences, which forms how they view and react to the world.
Participants learn to:
- Identify the four generations active in today’s workplace
- Describe the values, assets, and characteristic differences between the generations
- Create strategies to leverage generational diversity
- Interact with each generation most effectively
Cultural Intelligence
For all levels of associates
In today’s world, the diversity among employees, between corporate locations and among various companies is rich and complex. Learn about certain cultural filters, including family of origin and ethnicity, and their impacts upon our individual behaviors and organizational culture. Explore the value of increased cultural intelligence within your workplace.
Participants learn to:
- Recognize family of origin and ethnic filters beyond their own
- Define and explain cultural intelligence (CQ)
- Assess their CQ based on the three facets of cultural intelligence
- Develop strategies for demonstrating greater cultural intelligence in their organizations
Diversity of Thought and Perspective
For all levels of associates
This workshop challenges you to reflect and gain greater awareness of your perceptions, filters and biases. It is critical for each of us to be able to harvest diverse ideas and appreciate unique perspectives in order to problem solve, innovate and respond effectively to today’s business environment.
Participants learn to:
- Explain differences between each dichotomy of the Myers Briggs Temperament Inventory (MBTI®)
- Determine one’s own temperament based on the MBTI self-assessment
- Describe the potential biases inherent in temperamental differences
- Identify insights to minimize their own prejudicial responses to people with different perspectives
